VERMILYA, Doris Elaine - Of Swartz Creek, age 85, died Monday, April 23, 2018 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County.
Funeral service will be held 11:05am Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Andrew Auclair officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Contributions may be made to Hospice House of Shiawassee County or the American Diabetes Association.
Visitation 11am-3pm and 4-8pm Wednesday and 10am Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Doris was born in Dearborn, Michigan on February 2, 1933, the daughter of Richard and Annie (Kindred) Hagood. On May 21, 1955, she married Edward Vermilya. Her strongest beliefs were, never be on time, reuse everything and most importantly, make sure the coffee is hot.
Surviving are husband, Edward;
daughters, Linda (Vermilya) Curnow and Debbie (Andy) Holloway;
grandchildren, Leslie (Jim) Winkler, Adam Curnow, Phillip Borgerding, Lindsay (Ben) Clevenger, and Meghan Borgerding;
great-grandchildren, Kate Winkler, Lainy, Emily, and Broderick Borgedring, Camden, Greyson, and Lenox Clevenger;
and sister-in-law, Sandy Boyer.
She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers.
