Paul Dwain Scott, 70, of Lapeer died tragically as a result of a motorcycle/vehicle accident on October 2, 2017.
Paul was born March 17, 1947 to Herman and Zona (Lamb) Scott. He graduated from Flint Beecher High School, class of 1965. Paul married Bobbie Jean Tate on October 22, 1966 and was inducted into the US Army three days later. Paul served his country proudly in the 1st Infantry Division, Charlie Company during the Vietnam War. To say he was a decorated soldier is an understatement by any measure – the following is a partial list of the military decorations that Paul earned during service to our nation: the Combat Infantry Badge, the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, the Air Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal w three Bronze Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and two Presidential Unit Citations. Paul came home and began his 32 year career with General Motors. He was the Flint Truck & Bus General Supervisor over maintenance and skilled trade employees. He retired in 1998. Above all, Paul was a devoted family man, in love with Bobbie and so very proud of Tony, Tracy and all of his adored grandchildren. Paul was a professional husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather – Paul’s love for his family was unquestionable. He will be remembered as loving, compassionate, proud, giving and intelligent.
Paul is survived by his wife Bobbie Scott; son, Tony (Tracy) Scott of Lapeer; four beloved grandchildren: Taylor (Jenna Kennedy) Scott of Royal Oak, Karlee (Nick) Nadrowski of Lapeer, TJ (Calla Fantin) Scott of Lapeer and Kassidi Scott of Lapeer; one adored great grand baby, Henry “Paul” Nadrowski. Paul was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4-8PM Monday, October 9, 2017 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Paul’s memorial service will be 11:00AM Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Muir Brothers, Lapeer. Jim Watson will officiate. A graveside service will full military honors will follow at 1:00PM Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. |
