HERSHBERGER, Jim - of Davison, age 69, passed away on April 17, 2020. Due to the unusual circumstances, a Private Graveside Committal will be held on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Davison Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Jim’s name.
Jim was born in Flint, Michigan on November 17, 1950 son of Elaine Hershberger. He married Shelley (Webb) on September 22, 1972 in Davison, Michigan. Together they celebrated 48 years of marriage. He owned and operated Hershberger Heating for many years, then worked at Construction Code Authority for Lapeer County and for the last few years at Ace Hardware in Davison. Jim loved to fish and was always trying to catch the “big one.” He could fix or build anything and his friends and family looked to him for help many times. His crusty, yet teddy bear soft, personality and wealth of knowledge will be greatly missed.
Jim is survived by his wife, Shelley; daughter, Kristin (Tony) Orlando; son, Brent (Johnelle) Hershberger; grandchildren, Adrianna, Olivia, Ava Orlando & Wyatt Hershberger; sister, Sally (Matt) Lignitz & family; sisters-in-law, Stephanie (Steve) Deneen, Nancy (Rick) Tracy, Dana (Rob) Borst; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Jim & Joan Barter and too many more to list. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses in ICU at Hurley Medical Center.
