KONOSKI, Benny Earl – of Montrose, age 90, died February 4, 2020 at Pleasant View Medical Care Facility. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Thursday, February 13, 2020 at SS. Francis & Clare Catholic Church in Birch Run. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 1PM until 8PM at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio and on Thursday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 1PM. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Legion Post #158 and the Clio Gordon R. Bennett VFW Post #1452.

Benny was born October 2, 1929 in Flint, Michigan to the late Clayton and Blanche (Hay) Konoski. He grew up in Flint, Michigan and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1951. Benny served in Korea and earned 3 Bronze Stars for his meritorious service in a combat zone. On April 17, 1954, he married Betty Shuart in Flint, Michigan. She preceded him in death on October 15, 2013. Prior to his retirement in 1993, Benny worked for GM as a Tinsmith with 42 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 158, Clio Gordon R. Bennett VFW Post #1452 where he also served on the Honor Guard, and the Birch Run Moose Lodge #2426. Benny enjoyed fishing, woodworking, deer watching, and riding his bike. He also liked to go line dancing at the Senior Center and walking with his walking group.

Surviving are: Daughter, Lois (Gary) Keeler; Grandchildren: Bette Diem, Renee (John) Thomas, Donald (Jennifer) May, Jessica (Rick) Lewis, Kay (Rick) Edenburn, Aubrie Kennedy, Kim Keeler, Will Keeler, Sherry (Mike) Jungerheld, Bob Schroder; Numerous great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; Brother, Dutch Konoski; Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Wife, Betty Konoski; Son, Crawford Henry Traver “Butch”; Grandson, Benny May Keeler; Siblings: Don Konoski, Mary Schmidt, Gertrude Horton, Clayton Konoski.
