Usher, Georgena J. of Flushing, age 90, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at McLaren-Flint. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2014, at Rossell Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday.
Georgena was born in Flint, MI on April 23, 1924, the daughter of Emery Hess and Irene (Frees) Sheffer. She married Frank W. Usher in Flint on December 3, 1943. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2005.
Mrs. Usher was a Nurses' Aide in Flint for many years. She also had been employed for ten years as a Custodian Engineer for the Flint Board of Education, retiring in 1988.
Georgena is survived by four daughters, Carol and husband William Warner of Flushing, Gail and husband Larry Pittman of Fenton, Debbie and husband Thomas Crawford of Flushing, Janice and husband Joe Fate of Flushing; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Dwayne and wife Donna Sheffer of Shreveport, LA; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Romana Doneth. |
