Jamie Darlene Suuppi of Mayville, age 62, passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, May 10, 2013 at her home. She was born in Cass City, July 4, 1950, daughter of James and Verda (Chappel) Hayward.
Jamie graduated from Lapeer High School in 1968 and went on to Flint Junior College where she learned office skills, which she used at Oakdale Center - Lapeer. She married Gene Suuppi September 23, 1978, they lived in Lapeer and later Mayville. Mrs. Suuppi was a member of the Michigan State Employees Retirement Association and Country Christian Church in North Branch. She enjoyed drawing, reading, flower gardening and wildlife viewing. Jamie loved her family dearly and enjoyed trips out west.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband: Gene of Mayville; daughter: Brooke (Christian) Durbin of Flint; grandchildren: Iris Durbin and Ethan Durbin; brothers: David (Lori) Hayward and Mark (Kim) Hayward; sister-in-law: Deborah Hayward; parents: Jim and Verda Hayward; many dear friends and family.. Jamie was preceded in death by her brother: Vernon.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday May 12, 2013 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Jaime's funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Country Christian Church in North Branch, Rick Yarborough officiating, with burial in Stiles Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the House of Hope at Country Christian Church.
