WALKER, William – of Flint, age 70, passed away February 20, 2013 at U of M Hospital – Ann Arbor. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Harold K. Polk, Jr., officiating. Burial, with Military Honors will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Monday and 10–11 AM Tuesday.
William was born in Memphis, TN on August 30, 1942, son of the late Melvin and Annis (Lackey) Walker. He married Rita Simmons in 1967 and together they had two children. He married Janet Brown in 1989 and she survives him. William belonged to the Starlite Breakfast Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the casino and playing bingo. William was the owner and operator of BW Roofing and Siding. He loved hosting family gatherings, barbecues and cookouts.
William is survived by his wife, Janet Walker; children, Sherri (John) Marttila, William (Rachel) Walker, Jr., Elaine (Fred) Rosencrants, Lana (Brian) Wright and Debbie (Kevin) Brancheau; grandchildren, Lucas and Lauryn, Kaylene, Shelby; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Phillip Walker. He leaves many other family and friends. William was preceded in death by his siblings, Marvin Walker, Anna Faye Walker and Bob Walker.
