Eileen Agnes Devota went to be with her Lord on Tuesday March 18, 2025.
Eileen was born April 14th 1940 in Cass City Michigan, the fourth of seven children to Arthur C. and Kathryn Albert. The family moved to Maple Grove in 1942 and lived on Lincoln Road, moving to the farm on Chesaning Road four years later.
She graduated from St. Michael's Catholic School, Salutatorian of her class in 1958. She went on to marry Patrick John Devota on April 30, 1960 and celebrated 61 years of marriage before his passing in 2021. Pat and Eileen welcomed their children Patrick Leo Devota in 1961, Jacqueline Marie (Devota) Burgess in 1962, Julie Kay (Devota) Jamick in 1965 and Andrew Arthur Devota in 1968. The Family home was located on Chesaning Road 1/8 mile from the Albert farm. Eileen was a care giver to her husband, children and her mother until she passed. She was always working in the garden, canning and trying to complete those darn lists that dad left. She loved to take her midday nap. Eileen was very family oriented. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Eileen was a true Christian. She raised her family Christian and shared her faith with anyone who would listen and even some that didn't. She was quietly persistent and very successful in promoting the Catholic faith. Eileen taught religion at the Good New Center for years. She worked in the SPREAD program, went through the Lay Ministry program at the Saginaw Diocese, helping bring many people in to the church through the RCIA program. She also served as eucharistic minister and lector.
Those left to cherish Eileen's memories are her children; Patrick L Devota (Angie), Jacqui (Frank) Burgess, Harvey Jamick, and Andy (Jane) Devota. Grandchildren; lylish Devota, Justine (Kent) Schomaker, Joseph (Chaise) Jamick, Christopher (Lauren) Jamick, Allan Jamick, Amanda (Jesse) Lorencz, Clara Devota & Arthur Devota, Great grandchildren; Ira Lorenz & Baby Schomaker (due in June), Siblings; Janet Ruddy, Lavern & Mary Albert, Rose Albert, Ed & Ann Albert, Jim & Jan Albert & Leo & Chris Albert, Sister-in-law; Mary Ann Young.
