FILIP, William Edward “Ed” – Of Swartz Creek, age 78, died Monday, June 10, 2013 at Caretel Inns of Linden.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, Father Steve Anderson officiating.
Mr. Filip will be at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the Mass.
Cremation will take place following the Mass and a private family burial with take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the National Kidney Foundation.
Ed was born in Flint, Michigan on December 7, 1934, son of the
late William and Esther (Spziech) Filip. On December 18, 1965, he married Rose Mason in Fenton.
Ed proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Mr. Filip was employed by Buick as a Skilled Trades Man, retiring in 1989.
Surviving are wife, Rose;
children, Leslie (Dan), Kari (Steven) Solomon, Scott Filip and Jeff Filip;
grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer and Bryan Solomon;
sister, Delphine (Richard) LaVell;
many loving nieces, nephews and other family members.
