WITMER, Hazel M. – of Clio, age 85, died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at her daughter’s residence in Attica. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, July 3, 2015 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Rev. Gerald Lerche officiating. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-8PM and on Friday from 10 AM until time of services. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Hazel was born February 14, 1930 in Flint to the late Claude and Ellen (Scott) Cummins. She married Donald Witmer on May 8, 1948 in Flint. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2006. Mrs. Witmer retired from St. Joseph Hospital. She enjoyed being with her family, crafts and traveling.
Surviving are: Children: Esther Adams (fiancé Larry Dumond) of Clio, Cheryl Lowe (fiancé James Wesseling) of Decatur, MI, Judy (Terry) Drouin of Mt. Morris, Pamela (Charles) Jackson of Flint, Donna (Brian) Gormley of Attica; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law: Sandra Witmer of Clio; sister, Nora Hall of AZ; brother, Claude Cummins of VA; several nieces and nephews. Hazel was also preceded in death by: her son, Terry Witmer; grandson, Timothy Witmer; 2 sons-in-law, Wilburn Adams, Bob Lowe; and 5 brothers.
