Age 69, of Grand Blanc, passed away on August 24, 2019. A Celebration of Carolyn's Life will take place 11:00 am on Friday, at Martin Funeral, Cremation and Tribute Services in Grand Blanc, with Rev. Fr. Joseph Krupp to officiate. Cremation has taken place and a private burial will be held at a later date. The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Friday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute of Detroit in honor of Carolyn.
Carolyn was born July 8, 1950, in Flint, the daughter of Denzil “Dan” and Darlene (McCabe) Robinson. She attended St. Mary’s in Mt. Morris and graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1968. After graduation, Carolyn went to work at the Genesee County Friend of the Court, where she would meet her future husband. On November 16, 1973, she married Emil H. Joseph Jr.
Carolyn earned her nursing license from Lansing Community College and began her nursing career at Flint Osteopathic Hospital. Most recently, she worked at Genesee Health Plan, Ascension Genesys Hospital, and operated her own business, CPR Resource, providing medical and community education. Carolyn also served as regional faculty for the American Heart Association.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and Gigi. Carolyn was a glass-half-full kind of woman, who loved shopping, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was also an avid volunteer for community organizations and events, including The Crim, The Buick Open and the Holy Family "Picture Lady."
Surviving are her husband; Emil H. Joseph Jr. and children; Elizabeth (Scott) Lester, Katherine (Nabih) Kanaan, and Emil (Izzi) Joseph III. She adored her two grandsons; Wyatt and Zachary. She is also survived by her sister; Kathlene (James) Chapman, brothers; Daniel Robinson, Matthew (Heather) Robinson, and Kelley Robinson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael Robinson.
