Leroy Douglas Woodbury (Woody)
Birch Run, MI

Passed away at his home Saturday, June 2, 2018. Cremation has taken place. He fought a long hard battle of pancreatic cancer for over 3 years. A celebration dinner in his honor will take place at a later date.

Leroy was born on February 12, 1948 at Old Woman’s Hospital in Flint, MI. Leroy was the son of the late Clarence and Thelma (Copeland) Woodbury. He was a 1966 graduate of Bendle High School in Burton. He hired into General Motors Flint Metal Fab in August of 1966. He received an apprenticeship from GM in the summer of 1967 and became a Journeyman Machine Repair, Machinist. He retired from GM on December 31, 2006. He was a member of local 659. On June 17, 1967 he married his high school sweetheart Pamela Yvonne Eickhoff. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year and were only 15 days from being married 51 years. Leroy loved genealogy and spent countless hours and years tracing his heritage. He loved his cabin at Houghton Lake and his pontoon even though he wasn’t that good at catching fish, he loved fishing, he also enjoyed camping and traveling. Pam and Leroy had seen over half of the National Parks and were hoping to someday see the rest. He was able to go to Alaska after being diagnosed, which was easily one of his favorite trips.

Leroy is survived by his wife Pamela, daughter Angela (Mark) Handy of Montrose, MI, son Jeffrey of Millington, MI and Aaron (Sarah) Woodbury of Farmington Hills, MI; 8 grandchildren, Jacob, Alexandria and Steven Handy, Jacksen and Caleb Woodbury and Braden, Cooper and Vanessa Woodbury. Leroy is also survived by his in-laws, Devaun and Elizabeth (O’Hearn) Eickhoff of Millington, MI and his brother Robert Woodbury.

Besides his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by brothers Wayne, Lawrence and Richard Woodbury.

The family would like to thank Grace Hospice for all the help at the end of his life. Memorial donation may be made to a charity of your choice in his name or the Old Newsboys, which was one of his favorite charities. Arrangements entrusted to Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth.
