MACDONALD, MARY ELAINE
Of Flint, age 83, passed Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Charter Senior Living in Davison with her family by her side.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday October 31, 2024 at St Mary Catholic Church, 2500 North Franklin Avenue, Flint, Father Steve Anderson officiating. Entombment to follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will take place at the church beginning at 9:30 am Thursday until the time of the Mass.
Mary was born in Flint on June 13, 1941, the daughter of the late Walter and Cecile MacDonald and sister of the late Kenneth MacDonald. She graduated from St Mary High School in Flint and Central Michigan University. She taught elementary school before moving on to General Motors, where she worked until the time of her retirement in 2001.
She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church and her faith was very important to her. Mary enjoyed attending craft shows and celebrating her Celtic ancestry. She often stayed up late into the night on St Patrick's Day watching QVC and ordering various items directly from Ireland. She was adored by her grandchildren and looked forward to the times she spent with them - both at home and on weekend getaways to Mackinac and Shipshewana.
Mary is survived by her son, Timothy Sissons and Lisa Maine;
daughter, Tami Bauchan and her husband Mickey;
grandchildren, Steven Maine, Taylor Bauchan and Bayley Cole and her husband Ryan and
great grandson, Aaron Maine.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Michael MacDonald of Flint, Patrice and husband Wayne Adams of Flint, Lori and husband Michael Owen of Grand Blanc and Matthew MacDonald and wife Regina of Flint; as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
The family would like to share a special thank you to the staff at Charter Senior Living and Amanda from Swan Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or any other charity of your choice.
