Cook, Dennis Paul, of Flushing, age 61, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019. Dennis will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Hwy., Flint Township, where family will receive friends 10AM-8PM Thursday, May 9, 2019. Military honors will be rendered 3:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions to a family memorial fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Dennis was born September 19, 1957. He was a 1975 graduate of Flushing High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps until 1979. Dennis was a Certified Master Plumber and proud owner of Dennis Cook Plumbing & Mechanical. His passions in life was first his wife and family, followed by the excitement of deer hunting and the outdoors. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and riding his motorcycle. He will be greatly missed by everyone who loved him. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Carrie (Edwards) Cook; children, Anthony Cook, Tasha (Brandon) McDonald, and Tyler (Stephanie Ward) Cook; grandchildren, Gerrit, Dennis, Alyssa, Adalynn, Mason, Kaleigh, and Conner; great grandson, Phillip who adored him unconditionally as he adored all his family; mother, Beryl Jean (Hatch) Cook; siblings, Debra Schnettler, Dewayne (Carole Lynn) Cook, Donald (Felicia) Cook, and Donna (Troy) Herriman; mother- and father- in-law, Gerald & Verna Edwards; brother-in-law, Jerry Edwards; sisters-in-law, Kelly (Kevin) Clary, Lori (Russ) Edwards, and Julie (Ray) Barker; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved best friend, his dog, Miley. He is preceeded in death by his father Elzie Cook and his grandmother Lora Ferrell. |
