Age 68, passed away Monday, September 9, 2019 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Tuesday. Mr. Wilson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday.
Mr. Alvin Larell Wilson was born August 23, 1951 in Wisner, Louisiana, the son of Julia Mae and Woodrow Wilson. He moved to Flint, Michigan in 1955. Alvin graduated from Flint Northwestern High School and accepted Christ at an early age. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1971 where he served for 2 years. Alvin was employed at the Flint Fire Department for 23 years. He had a passion for fishing and making model ships. Alvin loved his family and was very humorous and fun to be around. He transitioned from this life on September 9, 2019.
Mr. Alvin Larell Wilson leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Helen Wilson; daughter, Theresa Wilson; 2 sons, Tracy Wilson and Sean Wilson; 2 step-sons, Fernando Henry and Herb Henry; 4 grandchildren, Sean Wilson II, Leigh Wilson, Zavier Wilson and Tracy Wilson II; 4 sisters, Dora Weston, Gloria Redmond, Carol Sharp and Maxine Summers; 2 brothers, Willie Wilson and Woodrow Wilson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his son, Larell Wilson; parents, Julia Mae and Woodrow Wilson; 2 sisters, Theresa Royster and Erma Johnson; and brother, James Wilson.
