RIOPELLE, Joseph Ernest – of Burton, age 67, passed away April 9, 2016 at McLaren Flint. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Rd., Flint; Fr. Roy Horning celebrant. Cremation will take place following the Mass. Burial of cremated remains will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 1-8 PM on Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Thursday at church. A Memorial Service under the auspices of Knights of Columbus #4090 will be held at 7 PM on Wednesday, followed by a Rosary at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Joseph was born in Monterey Bay, CA on June 29, 1948, son of the late Lowell and Lillian (Perow) Riopelle. He married Margo Jalich on August 7, 1971 and she preceded him in death on May 2, 2012. Joseph married Elaine Tithof on October 4, 2015. He worked as a die maker at Flint Metal Fabricating and retired in 2012. Joseph had his pilot’s license and flew until 1995. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the 50 and over club. He also enjoyed golfing, traveling, bowling, all sports and most of all, spending time with family and playing with his grandchildren.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Elaine; children, Dawn (Scott) Henson, Robert (Jennifer) Riopelle and Wendy (Craig) Titsworth; grandchildren, Jordan, Josh and Jared Henson, Rachel and Ryan Riopelle, Gabriel, Lynden and Emersen Titsworth; sister, Carol Williams; many nieces and nephews; step-children, Bill and Tony Young.
