PURDUE, EVELYN RUTH - Of Burton, age 92, died Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Wellbridge of Fenton.
Funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday March 11,2025 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Kim Metzer officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation will be held 10am Tuesday until time of service at the funeral home.
Evelyn was born in LaPlace, Illinois on June 18, 1932, the daughter of the late Irvin and Ruth (Keniston) Metzger.
On February 10, 1951, she married Leonard Purdue in Flint.
She was a member of Phoenix United Methodist Church.
Surviving are 5 sons, Tim (Terry), Larry (Chip), Tom (Judy), Roy Carl (Pam) and Andy (Lisa); daughter-in law, Connie;
daughters, Joan Nowyorkas and Ruth Wilcox;
19 grandchildren;
41 great-grandchildren;
1 great-great-grandchild;
many nieces and nephews;
2 sisters, Mary Rich and Barbara (Bill) Sprague.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; son, David; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Helen and brother, Gordon.
