Norma Lee Delecki, age 84, passed away, November 17, 2017 at Meadowlodge of Montrose where cremation followed with Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center - Flint. A memorial service will be held Sunday December 17, 2017 at the Secord Eagles, 3485 N. Lakeshore Galdwin, MI. 48624 at 1:30pm. Norma lived in Gladwin, MI. formally of Clio. She was born on December 20, 1932, to Bradford and Permelia (Price) Pyne in Flint, MI. then raised and graduated from Mt. Morris School. In 1996 Norma married Frank Delecki Sr. at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Morris and lived in Clio until Frank’s retirement where they then moved to Gladwin, MI. She was a beautician for a while then became a stay at home mom to raise her 5 children.
Norma was a very loving person, there wasn’t anyone she didn’t like and was very active. She was a pool shark where she played on a team with the ladies at the Secord Eagles. Norma played Bunco monthly and love to play poker with friends. She was always in the kitchen making something so nobody went hungry, even if you didn’t live there and food was also shipped out to friends of the neighborhood. She was well known for her fried chicken and apple pies. Anytime someone, kids or friends, needed someone to talk to for advice or just listen, she was there for them and do whatever she could to help. Norma was a charter member of the Birch Run Moose and a member of the Secord Eagles and was helping when she could along with making food for different events for them. Norma considered herself as the mother of the Secord friends and some called her “The Queen Bee of Secord”. When raising her children in Burton, MI., she loved to play cards with the neighbor friends. Norma provided much love for her children, went on yearly vacations and went to her parents often at Hubbard Lake where the kids had a blast spending time. She would put the kids on the bus, in her pajamas, then go down the street to play cards with the other ladies and sometimes would still be there when the bus brought the kids home. Norma later worked for a pharmacy in Flint which she loved very much until her hours were cut due to it being bought out to a corporate company. She retired from the work force at that point and met her husband, Frank Delecki who preceded her in death by exactly 4 weeks, and lived a very happy life with him. Frank took Norma jeeping and out to dinner, she really liked that. Spending time around the bonfire listening to the old-time music, guessing who the artist was and occasionally dancing on the cement slab near the fire with Frank, so romantic. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Delecki, Sr., parents, Bradford & Permelia (Price) Pyne, siblings Edward Pyne, Donald Pyne, and Margaret (Peggy,Pyne, Wallace). She is survived by her children, Michael R. Hall, Thomas H.. Hall (Judi), Suzanne M. Delecki (Terry), Daniel J. Hall, David J. Hall, stepdaughter, Glenda Brokaw (Tom), stepson’s, Terry L. Delecki, and Frank J Delecki Jr. Grandchildren, Terry Jacob Delecki, Amanda Hall , Megan Hall, Robbie (Sam) Hall, Randi (Josh) Baire, Joseph McGinnis (Martha), Jenny McGinnis, Jessica (Joe) Mahan, Rachel Kujacznski, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces nephews and cousins. In the spring Norma and Frank will be buried along with a life celebration of life gathering at the Clio Eagles, Saginaw St. on Saturday April 21, 2018. |
