UHRIG, Ernestine Mary – of Davison, formerly of Farwell, age 78, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday, August 8, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. One hour of visitation will be held at the church prior to the mass. Burial will be in St. Cecelia Cemetery in Clare, MI at 4 PM Thursday.
Ernestine was born in Flint, MI on July 14, 1941, daughter of the late Harold and Theresa (Youngs) Perry. She married Gordon R. Uhrig in Flint, MI on December 22, 1973 and he preceded her in death after 43 years of marriage on November 21, 2017. Ernestine was proud to have worked as an EMT. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison, MI and St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Clare, MI. Ernestine taught confirmation at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Ernestine is survived by her children, Theresa Brinkman, Patrick Uhrig, Christopher (Kristine Hill) Uhrig, Joelle McLain, Shawn (Gary) Bailey; grandchildren, Gordie, Stefanie, Jerry, Denise, Madison, Patrick, Kayla, Jacob, Gary Lee (Katie), Fiona and Gavin; many great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Davis; brother-in-law, Jerry (Carol) Uhrig; sister-in-law, Sandy Perry; cousins, Jackie Butz and Roxanne Jones; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Perry; Tiny Davis and Jack Butz.
