Ward, Gladys Kathleen of Flushing, age 100, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at McLaren Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Rossell Funeral Home. Rev. Jeanne Wisenbaugh will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Flushing United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Ward was born in Bay City, Michigan on November 6, 1911, the daughter of Clarence S. and Mamie J. Boom. She married Leslie Benson Ward in Flint on June 24, 1933. He preceded her in death January 8, 1999.

Mrs. Ward was a loving devoted Christian wife, mother and grandmother. She was one of the original female realtors in Flint and was an accomplished seamstress and milliner. She worked for General Motors during WWII. Mrs. Ward was an artist and she enjoyed nature and gardening. She taught Sunday school at First Church of the Nazarene in Flint. She loved Christ with all her heart and we know she is in heaven dancing with her husband.

Surviving are: two daughters, Shirley and husband Lewis Scotton of Fenton and Joan Buben of Flushing; eight grandchildren, Leslie (Douglas) Hansen, Matthew Scotton, Mark Scotton, Luke Scotton, Stacey (Gary) Selman, Jennifer (Malcolm) Fordyce, Jessica (Joel) Gruenberg, and Benson (Lisa) Buben; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister-in-law, Irene Boom; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister.
