ZOFCHAK, Eleanor Jane -- Age 88, of Grand Blanc, died October 8, 2014 at Abbey Park. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 AM Monday October 13 at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, 233 N. Elms Rd., Flushing. The Very Rev. David Hannes celebrant. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 1-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek; and 9-10 AM at the church on Monday.

Eleanor was born November 8, 1925 in Ashland, Wisconsin the daughter of Frank Anthony and Helen Viola (Lewis) Jelinek. She married Steven Zofchak on September 15, 1945 in Flint, he preceded her in death on September 5, 2009. Eleanor lived all her life in the Flint area. She graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1943. Eleanor was a member of the St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church and the Altar Guild. She enjoyed cards, bingo, and the Casino. She was an expert pie maker, she also enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida.

Surviving are: children, Paul (Diane) Zofchak of Clio, Gary (Diane) Zofchak of Sebewaing, Christine (Byron) Darnton of Republic, WA, Stephanie (Stuart) Gibbs of Byron; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; brother, Murl Jelinek; and 2 grandsons, David and Patrick.
