PERKINS, John Michael “John Boy” – Of Montrose, age 57, died Tuesday, August 27, 2019 in Georgetown, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Brother Ray Foust officiating. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1PM until 8PM, Wednesday from 11AM until 8PM, and Thursday from 11AM until the time of service at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for future designation.
John was born November 30, 1961 in Flint, Michigan to the late Charles and Lucile (Falerios) Perkins. He lived in Montrose most of his life, working as a truck driver and carpenter. John boy was an avid outdoorsman, a real "Jack Pine Savage". He loved Nascar, playing horseshoes, golfing, shuffleboard, and shooting pool. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family playing cards and singing.
Surviving are: His sweetheart, Laura; 3 children: Angie (Bill) Brown, Samantha Maynard, And John Perkins (Rachelle Skinner); 7 grandchildren; Brothers and sisters: Sharon (Dale Boyd) of Montrose; Matt Perkins of Swartz Creek, Kathy (Jim) Filer of Flushing, Carol Utsey of Montrose, and Don (Tammy) Perkins of Montrose; Many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; Best friends: Andy and Billy Winter; Nephew who was like a brother, Andrew Allen; Mother of his children, Pam Perkins. John was preceded in death by: Brothers: Bob and Jim Perkins; Brother in law, Early Utsey; Grandson, Jack; Favorite dog, Duke.
