PROVORSE, Elizabeth E. “Betty”. – of Clio, age 92, died Friday, October 20, 2017 at Maplewoods Manor. Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Messiah Lutheran Church - 520 Butler St., in Clio. Vicar Maxx Fisher officiating. Private burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Monday from 1PM until 8PM and at the church on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church or the charity of one’s choice.
Betty was born July 23, 1925 in Tacoma, Washington to the late Levi and Vera (Croupe) Bradshaw. She married George H. Provorse on January 11, 1945. He preceded her in death January 22, 2014. Mrs. Provorse was employed with AC for 10 Years and was a member of the UAW Local #651. She was also a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Betty took immense pride in being the head cook at Mt. Morris High School for many years. She was a very accomplished tailor and seamstress and enjoyed making clothing. Betty also enjoyed playing piano, line dancing, and tending to her flowers in the garden. She and George retired to Northern Michigan where they built a home, later returning to Millington. Betty loved traveling to Florida for the winter in her earlier years.
Surviving are: 5 children: Jerry (Teri) Provorse, Linda (Jim) Clark, George (Kathy) Provorse, Steve (Jodi) Provorse, and Jon (Jeanette) Provorse; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; Brother, James Bradshaw; Sister, Mary Webster; Many nephews, nieces, and other loving family members. Betty was also preceded in death by her twin brother, Phil Bradshaw, and 2 other brothers: Bill and Arnie Bradshaw.
