GAINES, Treasure G. – Of Flint, age 88, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Regency at Grand Blanc.
Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Mr. Gary Turner officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014.
Those desiring may make contributions to Bristol Road Church of Christ.
Visitation 2-7 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Treasure was born in Paragould, Arkansas on May 28, 1926, the son of the late Ray and Rada (Garner) Gaines.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946.
He was a very active member of Bristol Road Church of Christ for almost 60 years.
He loved golfing, bowling and was an avid card player.
Mr. Gaines retired from Associate Discount and General Motors Flint Engine.
Surviving are wife, Verneal;
nephews, Michael and wife Joan Shatley, Greg Shatley, Keith and wife Gina,
Todd and wife Christy
David M. Gaines,
Philip W. and wife Laura Gaines,
Paul D. Gaines;
nieces, Beth Ann and husband Mark Braden and Rhonda Minaudo;
many great-nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanne E, and Robbie V. Gaines; brothers, Onyx R. Gaines and Bobby Gaines.
