DUBENDORF, BEVERLY A. – Of Lansing and formerly Flint, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, May 31 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.
Visitation 11:00 AM -8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Curran Cemetery in Curran, Michigan.
Mrs. Dubendorf was born in Curran, Michigan on June 7, 1946, the daughter of Edward and Mildred (Bugg) Burge. She worked in restaurants for 30 years before finding her true calling as a caregiver the following 20 years. She also owned and managed rental properties over the past 50 years and gives thanks to all of her wonderful tenants and special thanks to her family who helped and cared for her during her illness the past year.
Surviving are her son, Edward Dubendorf of Lansing;
sister, Geraldine Mahalak of Lincoln;
sister-in-law, Theresa Vlas of Grand Haven;
nephews and nieces, Wayne Burge and Phyllis VanEtten of Flint, Tony Bowers and Marlene Wogaman of Flint, Randall Burge of Flint, Raymond and Julie Mahalak of Lincoln, and Jamey and Jenna Wofford of Battle Creek;
great-nephews and great-nieces, Jason and Taryn Burge of Swartz Creek, Ryan, Christina, Madylena, and Maximus Burge of Fenton, Caleb Wofford of Battle Creek, Matthew VanEtten, Carrie Hosmer McKenzie and Sydnie-Mae VanEtten of Grand Blanc, Winston Reeves and Gerald Montano of Kahului, Hawaii, Desmond and Chesney Reeves of Clare, and Jeremy Baker of Flint; and
many relatives and special friends, including her best friend of 62 years, Suzanne Brisbane of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bruce Dubendorf, May 25, 1985, brothers, Harold Burge and Norman Burge Sr., and nephews Norman Burge Jr. and Gregory Bowers.
