HUGHES, Jacqueline A. (Wood) – of Davison, MI, age 88, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place 3 PM Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Terry Alvis officiating. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the time of service.
Jacqueline A. Wood was born in Flint, MI on February 24, 1931, daughter of the late George and Julia (Brenner) Wood. She attended and graduated from Kearsley High School. Jackie met Walter G. Hughes and they married March 26, 1952. He predeceased her August 4, 2013. Jackie’s faith was very important to her and she was active with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She loved to travel with her husband and spending summers at the cabin with their grandson, David. Jackie found peace spending time outdoors. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family and friends.
Jackie is survived by 3 children, Christine Hughes Uren, Nelson (Theresa) Hughes and Randall (Elaine) Hughes; grandson, David Uren; twin siblings, Bernard Wood and Bernadine Buggia; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Julia Wood; husband, Walter G. Hughes; several older brothers and sisters.
