ROBERTS, Mary Ellen - Age 79, of Fenton, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to American Cancer Society, Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, or Genesee County Humane Society.
Mary was born March 30, 1938 in Greenbelt, Maryland, the daughter of Archibald and Julie Nelson. She married Joseph Love Roberts February 22, 1954 and he preceded her in death December 22, 1995. She resided in Fenton since 1954. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fenton. Mary volunteered at North Road Elementary and for the Brownies.
Surviving are: 6 children, Joseph Love Roberts of Northville, Carol Lynn Shanks of Flint Twp., Michael John Roberts of Troy, Julie Ann (Darby) Decker of Tawas City, Richard Paul Roberts of Howell, and Susan (Steven) Lemon of Friendswood, TX; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sister, Cecilia Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews.
