KING, Lela Mae (Talley) – of Flint, MI, age 100, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 3-8 PM Wednesday, December 26, 2018 and 10-11 AM Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, in Lela’s memory.
Lela was born in Steele, Missouri on August 10, 1918, daughter of the late William and Luella (James) Talley. She married F.P. King in October 1936 and he preceded her in death in October 1976.
Lela is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Cardenas; 4 grandchildren, Denise (Tom) Crystal, Shelley (Kurt) Meibeyer, Jeff Cardenas and Terri Cardenas; 3 great-grandchildren, Heather (Jon) Townsend, Ryan (Paige) West and Chad Crystal; 5 great-great-grandchildren, Aiden and Parker Townsend, Averie Newman, Sophia and Grady West; son-in-law, Baldemar Cardenas; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by daughter, Doris Meadows; son-in-law, Wayland Meadows; grandson, Steven Cardenas and 7 siblings.
