LINTON, Larry D. – of Burt, age 66, died Sunday, November 13, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, November 18, 2011 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose, Pastor Dorothy Burns officiating. Burial will be at Flint Memorial Park with military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8PM and Thursday from 12-3 and 5-8PM. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
Larry was born January 11, 1945 in Flint to the late Roy and Voneta (Wheatley) Linton. He was a resident of Burt the past 14 years. He married Nancy Lavrack on November 1, 1997. Mr. Linton retired from General Motors. He was a member of the Lighthouse Memorial Church in Bridgeport, Birch Run VFW Post #7542 and the UAW Local #455. He enjoyed camping, traveling, music and being a foster parent for many years.
Surviving are: wife, Nancy; children, Duane (Patti) Linton of Montrose, Jodi Jones of Flint, Julie (Warren) Thomas, Rebecca (Melvin Jr.) Stroik, Jennifer (Damion) Richardson all of Saginaw, Nathaniel Linton of Burt, many adopted foster children; many grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Sharon) Linton of Flint; several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Warren Thomas and special caregiver and friend, Tasha Brewster for all of their help and support. A brother, Roy, also preceded him in death.
