CANADA, Harold R. - Of Flint, age 88, died Friday, April 28, 2017
at Heartland Health Care Center – Fostrian.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Reverend Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of one’s choice.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Harold was born in Flint, Michigan on October 26, 1928.
He married Shirley Funch on June 19, 1948.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and fishing.
Mr. Canada owned Harold’s Carpet Service for over 20 years, retiring in 1993.
Surviving are wife, Shirley;
two sons, James and wife Jan of Burton,
Richard and wife Suzie of Flushing;
8 grandchildren, Christa and husband Bobby Doman,
Brittany Brimm,
Michelle and husband Bob Grissom,
Jennifer and husband James Lang,
Katie and husband Jeff Heystek,
Bryce Canada,
Megan and husband Dave Jeannette and Joey Mattar;
14 great-grandchildren;
sister-in-law, Carol “Till” Canada;
brother-in-law, George Funch;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Hattie (Priest) Canada; two brothers, Donald and Kenneth Canada.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Fostrian and Heartland Hospice for all their special care.
