CINDRIC, Margaret Katherine - Of Flushing, age 94, died Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Reverend Jacob Bester officiating.
Visitation 3-8pm Friday, December 30, 2016 and 10am Saturday, December 31, 2016 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Margaret was born in St. Mary, Pennsylvania on September 22, 1922, the daughter of Anthony and Mary (Kachmer) Cindric. The family moved to Flint in 1924. She graduated from St. Matthew High School on June 8, 1939, and went on to complete secretarial studies at General Motors Institute. She joined Alpha Iota International Honorary Business Sorority in 1941 and was a lifelong member. Margaret had a remarkable career at AC Spark Plug, a division of General Motors Corporation, and rose to the position of Executive Secretary to the General Manager, retiring on August 1, 1980. She enjoyed traveling the world with friends and family, enjoyed visiting various casinos and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Margaret became known for her contract bridge playing skills and achieved the rank of Silver Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League. She was a member of various clubs and organizations.
Surviving are her brother, George;
nephews Bob, Tom (Barbara) and Jim (Debbie);
nieces, Sue King, Kathy (Jim) Petriella and Chris (Pat) Furlo;
15 great-nieces and nephews;
five great-great-nieces and nephews;
and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert, nephew Steve and niece Mary Eib.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the North End Soup Kitchen or a charity of your choice.
Many thanks to the staff at The Oaks of Woodfield and those who attended her needs during her short stay at Genesys.
