BATTLES, James R. – Of Flint, age 76, died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Butch Martin officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
James was born in Flint, Michigan on November 18, 1942.
Mr. Battles retired from General Motors in 1996.
Surviving are wife, Marilyn;
children, Melissia and husband Charles Christenson,
James Battles,
Richard and wife Trudy Battles,
Jeffrey and wife Stacey Battles,
Hope and husband Larry Peters;
brother, Leonard and wife Peggy Battles;
sister, Mary Wisner;
many grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
and sister-in-law, Cinda Battles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dorothy Battles; brother, Everett Battles.
