Jones, Sheila Kay of Flushing, age 78, died Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Ascension Genesys Hospital. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Rossell Funeral Home. Rev. Jeff Jaggers will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at 2 p.m.
Sheila was born in Flint, Michigan on May 28, 1945, the daughter of Edward and Marie (Mrasek) Kelly. As a younger child, she enjoyed synchronized swimming and ice skating. Sheila worked at the Venice Pizzeria where she went by nickname “Tillie”. It was there she met and fell in love with Wayne Jones. They married on December 26, 1980. Sheila worked at Fisher Body. She loved going to casinos and playing Bingo. Sheila had a green thumb and enjoyed tending to her flower garden. She also enjoyed nature and feeding birds and other wildlife. Her and Wayne’s happy place was anywhere on a beach, whether a lake or the ocean. She loved her Scotty dogs and Mary cat.
Sheila is survived by her children, Kelly and husband Todd Fraim, Michael and wife Amy Ford, Steven and wife Tammy Ford, Tracey and husband James Messina; grandchildren, Jessica (Daniel) Andersen, Eryn (Brent) Sterling, Travis Fraim, Chad Ford, Samantha (Blake) McDonald, Justin Ford, Jennifer (Sean) Mulqueen, Katelyn Messina, Anthony Messina, Joshua (Quentin) Groce, Aaron (Madison) Duncan, Jason Duncan, Jade Duncan; great-grandchildren, Penelope, Ferris, Wesley, Layla, Henry, Ryley, Mikaela, Charlotte, Michael, Augustus, Fiona, Desmond; brother, Richard and wife Glenna, who was also Sheila’s best friend, Kelley; sisters, Colleen Tanner, Patricia and husband Perry Klein; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E. Jones, Jr.; grandson, Matthew Messina; first husband William Ford "Jr."; her parents; and brothers, James Kelly, Michael and wife Margaret Kelly, and Kevin Kelly.
