NOBLE, James Arthur – Of Grand Blanc, age 76, died on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Cottage of Davison.
Funeral service will be held 11am Friday, January 30, 2015 at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 7234 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, Reverend Susan Lidums officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Lutheran Church.
Burial in Imlay Township Cemetery in Imlay City, MI.
Visitation 1-3pm and 5-8pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. James will be at the church 10am Friday until the time of the service.
James was born in Austin, Minnesota on September 8, 1938, the son of Lester and Clara (Syverud) Noble. He grew up in Blooming Prairie, MN, and then graduated from Angsburg College, 1960 and Lutheran Theological Seminary, 1964, and Michigan State University, 1989.
He was ordained into the Christian ministry of the Lutheran Church and served church’s in Ontario, Canada for 12 years. Later he was employed as a Clinical Social Worker for Oakdale Center, Lapeer, MI, and Mt. Pleasant Regional Center for the Mentally Retarded.
Following retirement he did interim ministry at Christ the King Church, Lapeer, MI and King of Glory Church, Flushing, MI.
Surviving are wife, Barbara;
children, Philip (Trude) Noble of Plymouth, MI;
Rebecca (Robert) Zyback of Boca Raton, FL;
Elizabeth Noble of Hillsborough, N.J.,
Michael Noble of Brighton, MI;
step-children, Paul (Lynne) Weinmann of Lapeer;
Lori (Mark) Platz of Cypress, TX,
Lynn (Bill) Swain of Highland, MI,
James (Terri) Weinmann of Hudsonville, MI;
19 grandchildren and 5 great-granddaughters;
brother, Lyle (Jeri) Noble of Cannon Falls, MN;
many nieces and nephews.
