RODGERS, Steven B. – of Burton, age 60, passed away April 16, 2012 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at Our Risen Lord Lutheran Church, 4040 Lapeer Rd., Burton, MI 48509. Pastor Susan Lidums will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. On Friday, there will be visitation at the church for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Food Bank of Eastern MI or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, for patient treatment.
Steven was born in Flint, MI on December 29, 1951, the son of Don and Joyce (Oldham) Rodgers. He married Christine Williams on September 20, 1981. Steve was very active in the Folk Music community. He played guitar and performed as Steve LaCrosse. Steve was employed by Genesee County Community Mental Health for 25 years. He also worked with MADD and, most recently, at Common Ground. Steve was a generous, caring person who always had a smile on his face.
Steve is survived by his wife, Christine; sons, Gavin (Laura) Rodgers and Ethan (Liz) Rodgers; father, Don Rodgers; brother, Patrick (Amy) Rodgers; niece, Emma and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce; brother, Michael and grandparents, Ira and Lillian Rodgers, Dorothy and Harold Anderson.
