CYPHER, LeRoy Simeon -- Age 77, of Flint, formerly of Millington, died August 26, 2012 at Genesys Hospice Care Center, Goodrich. Funeral Services will be 1 PM Friday, August 31 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd. Swartz Creek, Mr. Richard Cypher (LeRoy's brother) officiating. Visitation 5-9 PM Thursday. A Masonic memorial service will be 7 PM Thursday evening under the auspice of Linden Lodge F & A.M. # 132. Those desiring may make contributions to the Linden Presbyterian Church or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
LeRoy was born December 29, 1934 in Millington the son of William and Agnes (Klock) Cypher. He was a graduate of Millington High School and attended Mott Community College during his apprenticeship. He was a Pipefitter for A.C. for 42 years retiring in 1997.
He was a member of the Linden Lodge #132 F. & A.M. and was past Master serving in 2003. He was a member of the Millington Lodge # 470 F. & A.M., Bay City Consistory, Flint Council # 56 R & SM, Royal Arch Masons - Washington Chapter 15. He was an honorary member of 19 lodges in Michigan and was awarded Mason of the year in 2003 from the Caro Lodge. He was a life member of the N.R.A. He was a member of the Linden Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are: four children Marsha and husband Erich Wilfinger of Highland, Steve and wife Nancy York of West Bloomfield, Barth and wife Jeanna York of Goodrich, Clyde York of Fenton; nine grandchildren; sisters and brother, Sara Langford of Beaver Bay WI, sister Carol and husband Jim Lingle of Indiana, Richard and wife Ruth Cypher of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He was preceded in death by his wife Marion in 1998; his parents; and seven brothers and sisters.
