HILLARD, Eugene Douglas "Doug" - Of Burton, age 70, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 18, 2013. A Memorial visitation will be held 3-6 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice in Doug's name.
Eugene was born in Cadillac, MI on January 8, 1943. Eugene or Doug as he liked to be called, worked in the mobile home 0business for over 30 years. From service to managing to helping design and build new communities. Doug was also an avid hunter, golfer and loved vintage cars and trucks. Surviving are son, Tim Hillard of Cadillac; daughter, Kim Hillard-Schenk and husband (Rick) of Traverse City; son, Zac Hillard and wife (Kasey) of Utah; brother, Mike Hillard and wife (Monica) of Idaho; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one niece; and girlfriend, Sherri Coleman. Doug was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Hillard, father and mother, Eugene and Doris Hillard. Your condolences may be shared with the family at swartzfuneralhomeinc.com
