STEWARD, Edwin L. – of Lapeer, age 72, passed away August 18, 2012 at MediLodge in Montrose. A Funeral Service will be held 12 NOON Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at World Outreach Center, 2275 N. Irish Rd., Davison; Bishop Jerry Pruett officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday; 11 AM – 2 PM and 5-8 PM Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
Eddie was born in Detroit, MI on January 19, 1940, son of Gertrude Boshaw. He grew up in Lapeer and graduated form Lapeer High School in 1958. Eddie married Sandra Knapp on January 28, 1961. He retired from the Grand Trunk Railroad after 37 years. Eddie loved to fish, hunt and happy to joke and kid with anyone at anytime, especially his grandkids. His goal was to see that his family was taken care of always.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 51, years, Sandy; daughter, Sherry, son, Jeffrey (Terry); grandchildren, Brandi, Heather, Leon, Anthony and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Justin, Damon, Aubrey and Noah; mother-in-law, Virginia Weigandt, sisters-in-law, Darlene Mathews and Carolyn (Glenn) Edwards. He was preceded in death by his mother; father-in-law, John Weigandt; brother-in-law, Tom Mathews and Tinker.
