Mrs. Ethel Pauline (Armstrong) Gibson of Millington, MI passed away Saturday afternoon March 21, 2020 at the age of 90.
Ethel was born on February 18, 1930 in Unionville, Missouri and was the daughter of the late Fred and Leah (Montgomery) Armstrong. Growing up in the Flint area Ethel graduated from Flint Central High School. She was employed with the AC/Spark Plug Division of General Motors and retired after 30 years of employment. She was a member of the St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar, Michigan. On March 31, 1962 Ethel married Harold Gibson, and together they celebrated 38 years of marriage before Harold passed away in January of 2000.
Ethel’s focus in life was her family, and she lived her life by supporting and caring for the people she loved. She was always there for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whether it was to talk about how their days were, offer them a meal, or help them through tough times. She had a great sense of humor and was always quick to laugh. When she laughed, you couldn’t help but laugh with her. She enjoyed nature and spent many happy times in her cottage on the Au Gres River in Tawas
Ethel leaves to cherish her memory her family. Son; Joe Demski, grandchildren; Dana Infante and her partner Derrick Hutchinson, Ryon List, Todd List, Chad (Maggie) List, Jaime (Mike) Pinson, and Jenny (Karri) Haglund, several great-grandchildren, Autumn, Ethan, Josie, Moya, Owen, Peyton, and Simon. She also leaves two son in-laws Fred List, and Steve Wood, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Besides her parents and husband, Ethel is also preceded in death by two daughters: Mona (Demski) List, Lynette (Gibson) Wood, and a grandson Jeff Wood.
The Gibson family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI on Wednesday March 25, 2020 from 11: 00 am until service begin. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm with the burial to follow at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. You're welcome to express condolences. share a memory, or light a candle at hanlinfuneralhome.com.
