CLEMENTS, Katie Mae – of Clio, age 92, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Tendercare of Frankenmuth. Private services have taken place with burial at Wheeler Grove Cemetery, Rinzi, MS. Contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Katie was born March 9, 1919 in Alcorn Co., MS to the late Olen and Azzie (Cook) Wilburn. She resided in Clio since 1984. She married Jim Clements on November 28, 1959. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2006. Katie and her husband owned and operated Village Carpets in Brighton from 1972 to 1982.
Surviving are: son, Robert (Janet) Wilbanks of Clio; 3 grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer) Wilbanks, Krista (Rick) Balanowski and Brett Clements; 7 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Karlee, Blake, Abby, Alex, Erin and Ethan; sister, Eula Thompson of MS; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: 1st husband, Vance Wilbanks; 4 brothers, Raymond, Elbert, Younk and Buster; 2 sisters, Sybil and Lavada; and step-son, Robert Clements.
