ADAMS, Johnnie Mae – age 81 of Grand Blanc, MI passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at her residence. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the funeral home from 9AM-12PM. Funeral services will be held at 12PM at Brown Funeral Home – 1480 E. Hill Rd. Grand Blanc, MI. Chaplain Goodman Cox officiating. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Johnnie was born on May 20, 1935 in Hiram, GA to the late George and Bernice (Whitehead) Kight. She married her high school sweetheart Edward Jackson Adams in Chattanooga, TN. They were married for 55 years before he preceded her in death in 2012. Johnnie was known for her bubbly personality and everyone who met her would comment on what a sweet person she was. She was a generous woman and would give anyone the shirt off of her own back. She was talented at all sorts of arts and crafts. She sewed, loved bowling, and did a lot of volunteer work for the Flint school system. Johnnie was also an amazing cook. She was always being volunteered to make all of the main dishes for their family events. Johnnie is survived by her son, Victor Adams; daughter, Lori Adams; sisters, Perlena (James) Sanders of Chattanooga, TN and Elnora (Leonard) Jackson of Chattanooga, TN; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward Adams; and sister, Barbara Freeman. Those desiring may make contributions to the family or to a charity of one’s choice.
