LINDQUIST, Richard L. – of Montrose, age 63, of Montrose, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3PM until 8PM and Wednesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Rick was born May 30, 1953 in Flint, Michigan to the late Robert and Marjorie (Jones) Lindquist. He married Gloria Herrick on January 26, 1974. She preceded him in death January 17, 1989. Rick later married his love, Kelly Leonard on April 29, 2009. Mr. Lindquist retired from AC in 2004 with 32 years’ seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #651. He was also a member of the Montrose Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #4090 and the Saginaw Sportsman’s Club. Rick was also known as “Hot Rod” because of his love for 60’s and 70’s muscle cars. He enjoyed attending car shows, swap meets, working on cars, and was always there to offer a helping hand with anything car related. Rick thought the world of his family and loved his cats, Harvey and Morris. He always enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. Rick’s kind, loving, and thoughtful personality will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: Loving wife, Kelly Lindquist of Montrose; Son, Ricky Lindquist Jr., of Clio; Step daughter, Ali Kelbey of New Lothrop; Granddaughter, Miranda Gregory; Brother, Robert (Sandra) Lindquist; Sister, Marji Snyder; Cousin, Danny Riley.
