WIECOREK, Richard - Of Burton, age 99, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Regency of Grand Blanc.
Funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Tom Mattiuzzo officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled Veterans of America.
Visitation 1-4pm and 6-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Richard was born in Flint on December 11, 1916, the son of the late John and Frances Wiecorek and was a resident of Genesee County all of his life. He worked at General Motors Fisher I for 51 years and was the last survivor of the Sit Down Strike in 1937. He was a member of UAW. He was also a member of Riverside Tabernacle since 1950.
Surviving are daughter Adeline D. Cox;
Grandchildren, Keith (Bridget) Cox, Richard “Rick” Wiecorek;
Step-granddaughter, Paula March;
3 great grandchildren Corbin G. Cox, Courtney and Crystal Wiecorek;
Many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Anna, son Richard and 2 bothers and 2 sisters.
