MITTAN, Thomas F. "Tom" – of Mt. Morris, formerly Flushing, age 71, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at home. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 6PM on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the New Life Assembly of God in Flushing. 8240 W. Carpenter Rd.
Flushing, MI 48433. Pastor Dennis Tanner officiating. Friends may call at the church from 5PM until the time of service at 6PM. Contributions may be made to Sharon Mittan or the New Life Assembly of God Church.
Thomas was born in Flint on April 24, 1942 to the late Carson and Vivian (Banks) Mittan. He married the love of his life, Sharon on November 25, 1978 in Flint and was married for 34 wonderful years. Tom owned many businesses throughout the years. He later worked at Genesee Gardens Retirement Center in Flint. He was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God in Mt Morris for 25 years, where he served as an usher, the New Life Assembly of God in Flushing, serving as an usher, and formerly the Wildwood Assembly of God in Wildwood, FL. He enjoyed restoring antique and classic cars, riding motorcycles and cooking out for his family.
Surviving are: wife, Sharon; children, Rod (Kristine) Mittan of Corunna, Rick (Cindy) Greenway of Moorcroft, WY, Scott Greenway of Flint, Danielle Chadwell of Vestaburg, Nanette Johnson of Owosso, Brad (Kandy) Mittan of Corunna; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Whiting of Waterford, Michelle Johnson of Sault Ste. Marie; many nieces, nephews, cousins; best friends, Mike Lee, Rod Gibson, Dave Lamay, Lee Schollart and Bob Pozsgai.
