MONROE, Verlie M. – Of Flint, age 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Genesee Care Center.
Celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Dave Hintz officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Central Church of the Nazarene.
Visitation 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Verlie was born on March 8, 1923 daughter of James and Mittie (Swift) Caudle.
She married her childhood sweetheart, Robert Monroe on June 23, 1945 and he preceded her in death on January 22, 2013.
Verlie was a homemaker.
Surviving to cherish her memory daughter, Janet (Douglas) Hungerford of Swartz Creek;
her son, Robert James (Sandra) of White Lake;
she had five grandchildren, Daniel Hungerford of Grand Rapids,
Holly (Jeremy) Smith of Flushing,
Heidi (Craig) Smith of Charlotte, NC
Kristyn (Erick) Donaldson of Burton and
Robert Monroe of Flushing;
15 great-grandchildren;
sister, Dorothy Burton of Flint;
brother, James (Wilma) Caudle of Flint;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, that died at birth; her parents; brother, William Caudle and sister, Virgie Sipes.
