Delia Refice "Zi Zi" -- Age 102, of Grand Blanc. died May 30, 2020. Delia was born in Flint, MI, September 15, 1917. Her parents were Angelo and Maria (Andreozzi) Refice. Both were from Patrica, Italy. Delia was very proud of her Italian roots and traditions. She attended St. Michael’s school and graduated in 1936. She valued education and was proud to be the first Patricani to graduate from high school. She attended Baker’s Business School and a beauty school. Delia was a jack of all trades! She worked at A.C. Spark Plug as a salaried employee in the advertising dept. She retired in the 70’s.
Throughout her life, she served people in many different ways. She gave to the missions, helped young men become priests, and donated money to build a well in a 3rd world country; just to name a few of the ways she helped others. Delia could be tough, but she had a tender heart. She leaves behind her nieces and nephews: Linda Refice Peters, Spring, TX; Bob Refice (Christine), Davison, MI, and their daughter Andrea Refice; Ray Refice (Kathy), Grand Blanc, MI, and their daughters Lissa Refice and Lauren (Tyler) Long, and son G Refice; Carole (Geoffrey) Refice Cooper, and Joanna (Keith) Refice Bangor and son David Bangor (Jupei) of Ramona, CA; and Gina Flood and Jimmy (Amy) Flood III. Delia also leaves behind her cousin Angie Spenceley and nephew Russ (Debbie) Miller; special friend Rosemary Water, many other friends, extended family, and paisanos. There are too many to name, but she cared for you all. Delia was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sister-in-laws Louie and Mary Refice and Joe and Antoinette Refice and niece Gloria Refice Flood. We would like to thank Michigan Premier Hospice, everyone at The Oaks of Woodfield, Helping Hand, Fr. Andy, Mr. Angelo Panoff, and especially Russ Miller and Kathy Refice for being kind and unselfish caregivers. Sharp Funeral Home, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc is assisting the family with arrangements. Entombment will be at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. A memorial mass/luncheon will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorials/donations may be made to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, the Humane Society-Genesee County or her parish: St. Michael’s Catholic Church (609 E. 5th Avenue-Flint), to aid these organizations in their missions. “Taste and See the Goodness of the Lord”
