SLATER Pamela Doreen - Of Grand Blanc, age 92, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 3pm, Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Franklin Beck officiating.
Visitation 1pm Sunday until the time of the service at the funeral home
Pamela was born in Cornwall, England on March 21, 1924, the daughter of Michael and Jane (Snell) Barry/Bale. She married Cyril John Slater on February 23, 1943 in Cornwall, England. Pamela and her family moved to Flint, Michigan in November, 1952. She became a proud U.S. citizen five years later. Pamela was a member of Flint First Wesleyan Church. She was an employee of The Fair Store for 24 years. She loved to knit, sew, read, travel, write stories and poems and spend time with family and friends. Pam’s cooking specialty was Cornish pasties.
Pamela is survived by her daughter, Janice (Donald) Perkin, and her beloved granddaughter, Valerie Perkin of Monument, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Cyril.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the caring staff at The Oaks at Woodfield in Grand Blanc.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
