AYERS, Rolland R. “Bob” – Of Swartz Creek, age 87, died Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Huron Valley Sinai.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Carl Petty and Pastor Ronald Emmerling co-officiating.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Rolland was born in Flint, Michigan on December 19, 1928, the son of the late Rolland and Ernestine (Hect) Ayers and was a lifelong resident of this area.
On August 6, 1948 he married Ruth VanderPyle and she preceded him in death on June 17, 2015.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Flint for 40 years.
Mr. Ayers was a Police Chief of Linden and Swartz Creek and security officer for Buick City.
Surviving are six children, David Ayers,
Kathy Speas,
Beth (Bob) Adams,
John (Cathy) Ayers,
Dawnn (Tim) Messler and
Tammi (Jay) Parker;
12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Ayers.
