BAKER, Shirley - Of Hale, Formerly of Holly, age 84, died Saturday, February 10, 2018, after suffering a brief illness at Huron Valley Sinai Hospital in Commerce Township.
A memorial service will be held 2pm Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Rob Prince officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation 12 Noon Sunday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Shirley was born in Holly, Michigan on February 21, 1933, the daughter of the late Hank and Nita Pettis.
Shirley worked as a cashier for the majority of her adult life in Holly, where she and her beloved husband of 50 years, Jack, raised their three children, Pam, Connie and Jack.
Later they retired and moved up north to Hale, Michigan. She enjoyed gardening and being a member of the Eagles and the Masons, as well as being a member of the Ladies Red Hat Society.
She will be forever remembered and missed by her surviving three children, Pamela Baker, Connie Bryngelson and Jack;
son-in-law, Mark Bryngelson;
7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and her brother, Jim Pettis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane “Jack” Baker and sister, Betty Hirst.
