PEPPIN, Paul Richard – of Davison, MI, age 93, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 Noon Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski celebrant. Entombment will follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 5-7 PM Monday and 11 AM Tuesday until the time of the Mass at the church. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Monday, followed by a Memorial Service under the auspices of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be considered to St. John Building Fund.
Paul was born in Ishpeming, MI on May 27, 1927, son of the late Richard and Libbie (LaFreniere) Peppin. He married Marjorie Ann Dompierre on May 16, 1953 at St. Joseph Church in Ishpeming. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2016. He graduated from Ishpeming High School. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WW II. He retired from Chevrolet Manufacturing Hospital after 31 years of service. Paul and Marge moved to Punta Gorda, Florida for 32 years before moving back to Davison in 2014. Paul was a member of the Davison Knights of Columbus #4090 and St. John Catholic Church. He was an accomplished woodworker and enjoyed making furniture for his family. Paul enjoyed traveling, reading, socializing, and staying active.
Paul is survived by son, Gary (Lori) Peppin of Davison; daughter, Paula (Bruce) Krause of Lebanon, OH; foster son, Gregory (Linda) Saunders of Adrian, MI; 6 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, James (Dorothy) Peppin; Brother-in-law, Ronald Dompierre; Sister-in-law, Elaine Banks; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Lillian Garceau and Donna Paveglio.
